Crown Court Digital Case System - Saved URL Links

DCS URL Links in LEX

We have provided an easy way for clerk users to store and manage access to DCS case links/URLs, and delivered a quick route from within LEX to the files stored in DCS.

When the option is enabled, and for the selected Case Types, a NEW icon will appear within the header in case records in LEX (on the Details, Fees, Appts, Papers, Times tabs).

The DCS Case Popup: Storing/Managing DCS Links

Selecting the DCS icon opens up the ‘DCS CASE LINKS’ popup; into which, each DCS Case Link received can be individually added and stored against the case in LEX:

Example:

Once saved (using the button provided), details of the link are stored on the case within the popup. This means they are then easily available for future reference. The DCS Icon on the case record will also change, to represent the presence of the DCS URL/Link, Clicking anywhere on the black and white text area within the popup, will open up the stored link in a new tab in the users browser.

Adjacent to each link stored in the DCS CASE LINKS popup, are two icons (available only to ‘Clerk’ type users). The edit icon, allows users to amend the URL, Description, or amend which Barristers are able to access the link. For example: to add a second Barrister to the associated case in DCS, the edit option is selected, and a new Barrister from the case record in LEX is added to the list of Barristers.

NOTE: Users will still have to log into the Crown Court Digital Case System to access the case files.

DCS Diary Icons

In addition to the DCS Icon that appears within the cases in LEX, we’ve also added helpful diary icons, which ONLY appear against an appointment when the linked case has DCS entries stored against it. Clicking on this icon opens up the DCS Case Links pop up where users can access the DCS links.

NOTE: Only Barrister users who are associated with the DCS Links stored on the case will be able to see the DCS Diary Icon
