2-way diary sync is a feature that allows appointments added to your Chambers calendar to be synced into your Lex diary. This ensures that your clerks have visibility of any appointments you create in your calendar and any meeting requests you receive directly.
Understanding the Sync Process
In this example, the Barrister has both 1-way sync and 2-way diary sync enabled:
Grey Entries: These are appointments entered by clerks into the Barrister's Lex diary, which then sync to the Barrister's Chambers calendar. These appointments are categorized as "Created by Lex" and represent the 1-way diary sync functionality. Amendments and deletions to these appointments can only be done in Lex.
Teal Entries: These are appointments added directly to the Barrister's calendar, which then sync to their Lex diary. This includes entries the Barrister has added themselves, such as personal appointments or meeting requests from solicitors. These entries are categorized as "Synced with Lex," indicating visibility in the Lex diary.
Benefits of 2-Way Diary Sync
With 2-way diary sync, you no longer need to contact clerks to add appointments to your Lex diary, nor do you need to log into Lex yourself. Simply add the appointment to your Chambers calendar from any device, and it will sync across to your Lex diary.
Changes to appointments in your calendar, or amendments/cancellations by organizers, are automatically synced to the Lex diary.
Clerks can access your real-time availability, aiding in diary management and preventing double bookings.
Tentative meeting requests are visible to clerks, even if not yet accepted, providing better scheduling oversight.
Privacy and Control
Subject to your configuration, if you flag an appointment as private in your calendar, it will remain only in your calendar and not sync to your Lex diary. This feature allows you to manage both work and personal appointments using a single calendar while maintaining control over what is visible in the Lex diary.
